Sprint Triathlon bike leg

I am an Ironman & British Triathlon qualified triathlon coach.

At the core of my coaching philosophy is the belief that triathlon should be open to people of all abilities. Whether you are aiming for Age Group qualification, want to beat your times from last year, or want to complete your first triathlon you can benefit from structured training and the personal advice and feedback of an experienced coach.

I understand and have experience of both the highs and the challenges of being an athlete; the joy of crossing that finish line and the hard work of training in all weather and recovering from injury.

My passion for triathlon and my own triathlon journey began over a decade ago – I’d always been active and enjoyed running, but needed a new challenge. I entered a mini triathlon, overcoming the need to improve my swim and really enjoyed the experience. Since then I have gone from strength to strength and completed numerous sprint and standard distance triathlons; in 2017 I stepped up to Ironman 70.3 in Mallorca and in 2020 I qualified for the GB Age Group Team to take part in the 2021 European Sprint Distance Championships in Valencia.  Due to covid restrictions and the difficulties surrounding travel I took up the option to defer my place and look forward to competing in the 2022 European Sprint Distance Championships in Munich!

I wouldn’t have been able to achieve any of this without the help and support of my local triathlon club (SYtri) which I joined in its founding year – it was this that inspired me to return the favour and start coaching.

I became a British Triathlon Federation (BTF) qualified coach in 2011 and have coached regularly ever since. I went on to complete my Level 2 qualification in 2014, gaining extensive experience in coaching both pool and open water swimming; delivering static and track based bike sessions; planning, writing and delivering run track sessions; and writing my own triathlon training plans.  I have since qualified as a BTF Level 2 Diploma and Ironman certified coach and have coached athletes of all ages competing from super-sprint to full Ironman distances.

I intend to continue my journey supporting and encouraging others to achieve their goals.
